Six months ago you would not have found me lauding the idea of the flare-sleeve top
as a wardrobe staple. Indeed the very notion of me actually owning and wearing one
regularly would have escaped me, with the strong feminine and retro vibes tied to this
particular silhouette making it appear an absolute no-go for me.
Enter Kym Ellery and her unsurpassed talent at elevating such previously relegated
pieces to must-have status. Suddenly, with a clean line, boxy drape and edgy overlong
sleeves, the flare-sleeve top just got a whole lot more modern (and very desirable).
Worn here for my first foray into Paris Fashion Week, a slashed midi skirt and neat
Marant sneakers take this Ellery creation into everyday-wearable status, thus solidifying
its place as a wholly necessary wardrobe staple.
A top you can wear from day to evening with this much ease? Seems like a no-brainer to me.
