Trench coats, mesh tops, skinny cigarette pants… anyone would forgive you for thinking
I travelled back two decades to source this ensemble, but not so. A comeback? Perhaps,
though these inherently 90s pieces will always be relevant for those of us with a relaxed,
minimal sensibility – a testament to the simplicity and ease designers focussed on at the
time. Plus that little hint of edge, of course. Always.
I experimented with a few selects from Reiss for this outfit, and the UK dynamos did
not disappoint with their range of wearable, design-led pieces. Sitting somewhere between
work and play, the trench and cigarette pant provide a classic sensibility whilst the mesh top
lends that hint of edge I am always after, and that any 90s girl would be proud of.
This ensemble can easily be worked for day or night, simply by switching out the top for a
more sophisticated shirt or clean tank and going from flats to a sleek boot or heel moving
into the office or evening. Either way, you can be sure working a little 90s nostalgia into
your wardrobe can only do you good.

pieces to switch out for various occasions.
