Behold: the time I wore colour…and liked it.

I’ll give you a moment to pick yourself up off the floor.

Now, to say I never stray from a monochromatic palette would be mostly true, though not always
Every now and then a piece crosses my path that has such a great silhouette that I can’t pass it up,
despite it not adhering to my usual non-colour colour palette.

This Tibi shirt is an example of such a piece. With its high-neck, overlong sleeves and cut-out
shoulders it was just crying out to be worn, despite it having a serious case of the blues going on.

The fact that the blue hues in the shirt matched almost perfectly with denim was a good start – denim
is always your friend if you want to keep a look relaxed and nonchalant, a definite must when
venturing outside your sartorial comfort zone. This form of tonal dressing is also in keeping with
the minimalist ideal of “less is more” I feel, in that the less opposing colours you have in one outfit the
more classic and put-together you look.

Anchored with my favourite luxe black accessories (hello, Gucci) and all of a sudden I was comfortable
wearing predominantly colour, a light blue of all things. Go figure.

If you too are feeling a little adventurous this week, you can shop my look below + a few extra
non-monochromatic current season picks.

See you on the other side.
