There is something about the classic pantsuit that makes it feel simultaneously retro and yet modern all
at the same time. Perhaps because it never ceases to exist as a key item in every wardrobe, male or female,
whatever may or may not be “in fashion” at any particular point in time. This sense of timelessness, of
transcending trends, is surely what makes the humble suit so inherently appealing and indeed evocative in
its representation of strength and endurance – when you put one on, you immediately feel like you could take
on the world. There is no doubt the pantsuit is one of my all-time favourite wardrobe staples, and I have thus
decided to celebrate my love for this piece with a little series on different ways I like to wear it day-to-day.
First things first – the classic black suit. Boyfriend-cut blazer, wide-leg pants, a classic cami, structured
tote and luxe slides – this is how I wear by all-black suiting for a day of running around like a mad woman
(which, on this day, I actually really was. Quite mad). There is nothing more perfect for a day of craziness
than a pantsuit, in my opinion, with its ability to keep you looking (and hopefully feeling, but no promises)
wholly put-together however busy you may be. Cut through the crazy with a classic pantsuit – let’s call that
my quote for the day.
